Bermagui Blessing

The Bermagui Blessing is held at Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf against the magnificent backdrop of the harbour and Gulaga Mountain.

The non-denominational service blesses all watercraft and crew who venture from Bermagui Harbour. Soloists and choirs lead the singing of the hymns.

Street Parade

The Bermagui Seaside Fair Street Parade is one of the opening events of the Fair. Locals and visitors alike thoroughly enjoy the spectacle of a live parade with everyone getting into the atmosphere of the Fair early in the day. Hundreds of spectators line both sides of Bermagui’s main street to watch the kilometre-long parade …. a colourful mix of groups, individuals, vehicles and musicians.

The parade provides a showcase of the town’s community and business groups who dress up according to the ‘theme’ of the year. For each parade, floats are decorated according to the theme and participants range from the local SES and Rural Fire Service, the Bermagui Public School and Pre-School, various district vintage car clubs, sporting groups and local businesses.

Street parade themes over the years have been Seaside Living, Celebrations!, Love the Life we Live!, Bermagui Bling – Let’s Shine, Bermagui: Proud of Our Place, Messin’ About in Boats, Hey Hey It’s Hat Day!, B for Beautiful Bermagui, Bermagui – Out of This World, Pirate Pageant, Rio Olympics and 20th Birthday Mad Hatters Party.
